And that's what I love about boudoir. It's more than just a photoshoot.
It's a powerful experience that allows you to rewire the old tired narrative of not being 'enough'

Because these aren't YOUR truths. It's just stories repeated enough times to make it feel like a fact.
This is the deep work we do inside the studio. We're interrupting the old narrative and confronting the gap between who you believed you are...and who you actually are.

Hi loves 👋 It's me Shannon - owner of J'adore Boudoir Photography.
It's been a hot minute since I introduced myself on here and I think it's important to see who's behind the scenes of this sexy operation 🤭
We are an all female team with over 20 years of combined experience in the industry. We've photographed hundreds of women in every season of life - new moms, entrepreneurs, women navigating divorce, hearing, growth, reinvention, and so much more! Our process is very hands on with direction (posing, angles, expression, coaching), intentional with the environment (privacy & comfort), and were obsessed with delivering images that feel elevated without making you feel like someone else.

So I took a bold move last week and reached out to a music producer...
It's been tugging on my heart for months - but I kept talking myself out of it.
Why do we talk ourselves out of the thing we actually want?
Because our subconscious doesn’t care about our dreams…
it cares about keeping us safe.
And what felt safe is...
Not being seen.
Not failing.
Not being rejected.
But all it's really doing is...keeping us stuck.
Here's the thing about fear. It sits in our subconscious. And our subconscious will do ANYTHING to keep us 'safe'. What our subconscious deems safe and unsafe is built up over time from our own personal experiences and how we process and interpret them.
So of course, my subconscious is playing out every worst case scenario in my head to keep me from doing the actual thing I really want to do.
This is the real work. Rewiring our subconscious.
Expanding what “safe” looks like.
So we can become the version of ourselves who go after what we fu*king want!

She came back to see me this week...for her second

She came back to see me this week...for her second session ♥️
We met years ago when she did a session with me in Reno. We both lived there at the time, and I had just moved into my first little studio in the Caughlin Ranch house off Mayberry Dr.
Years later were brought back together in a different city, both living in So Cal now, and just settling into my Encinitas studio.
The universe works in beautiful ways to bring people back together 🫶

The biggest fear women have before booking…
It's not how to prepare or how to pose.
It's that they won’t look like the women they see on my website.
And I get it.
You scroll through image after image of confident, radiant, fully embodied women and think—
“That’s beautiful… but that’s not me.”
But here’s what you don't see on the other end...
Every single woman you see on my website had that exact same thought before her session.
None of them showed up already knowing how to pose or what to expect.
None of them walked in feeling 100% confident.
Just like you, they were nervous.
What you’re seeing in those images isn’t “naturally confident women.”
You’re seeing what happens when a woman is fully guided, deeply supported, and placed in an environment designed to bring that side of her out.
That is our job.
You are not the exception. You are exactly who this experience was created for 🫶

Most women live in a distorted self perception (myself included).
We don't really see ourselves.
We learned to scan and critique.
A comment from a partner.
A comparison in high school.
A number on a scale.
A photo we didn’t like.
A moment we felt exposed.
And instead of passing through us,
those moments add up and start to stick.
And over time, that distorted lens becomes our truth. It stops feeling like an insecurity and starts feeling like a fact.
But those aren’t truths. They’re stories repeated enough times to feel permanent.
Boudoir is meant to rewire that narrative. That’s why these sessions are deeply personal and emotional.
We're confronting the gap between who you’ve believed you are…and who you actually are.
I've been shooting and empowering women for over 8 years and I still have to consciously choose a new lens.
I still have to interrupt the narrative. I still have to remind myself that distortion is learned and that it's not my truth.
So here's your reminder to rewrite your narrative. Distortion is learned - but it's not your truth.
