Have you been planning to search for boudoir photographers in Reno and have a summer photo shoot, but you’re not sure what to expect or how to prepare? You might be worried your body is not summer-ready.
First off, if you have a body and it’s summer, you have a summer body. Now, all you have to do is read on to find out what to do & not to do for your summer boudoir photo shoot and enjoy this unique experience.
What not to do for a summer boudoir session
Here are a few things you shouldn’t do if you’re planning to have your boudoir photos taken in the summer:
Don’t suntan the week before
If you wanted a tan for your photos and it’s already a week before the appointment, it’s better not to go sunbathing. The biggest reason is because tanlines and/or redlines are not easily removable in images during the editing process. It creates quite the eyesore if there are lots of tan lines on the body. Secondly, if you are sunburned that does not make for an enjoyable session.
Don’t get a spray tan
If you’ve been getting a regular spray tan, then it’s okay. However, it’s best not to get it a few days before or on the day of the shoot in case something goes wrong or you’re not satisfied with how it turned out. Come as you are and trust your photographer!
Don’t go on a crash diet
Even though it’s summer and you want to look your best, you shouldn’t put your body through extreme dieting to prepare for a boudoir photo shoot. Sure, you can be careful about what you eat beforehand, but you shouldn’t do anything potentially harmful. The point of boudoir is rediscovering your beauty and sex appeal and practicing self-love. If anything, drink lots of water leading up to the shoot date. This will help clean out the system and give the skin a nice fresh glow.
What to do for a summer boudoir session
Take a look at what you can do before and during your boudoir photo shoot:
Get good rest
Getting good rest is so crucial to a successful shoot. Have a good night sleep so that you’re fresh and full of energy to make your summer pictures special.
Plan your outfits in advance
Too many times I’ve seen clients show up with last-minute outfits, only to be disappointed with the outcome. Make sure to plan your outfits a month or two in advance (especially if you are shopping online). Find things you feel both comfortable and sexy in.
Have fun
Regardless of the occasion, you should feel good in your shoot and after it. Shake the nerves off and know that you are in good hands with your photographer. Remember to laugh and enjoy this very special experience!
