A boudoir photo shoot consists of an entire day of pamper and glamour. It’s a day to honor your body, have fun, and celebrate being you. We want you relaxed and feeling your best before getting behind the lens. As your photographer, I will help you prepare for your boudoir shoot by suggesting wardrobe choices for your body type, and guiding you through poses. But some of the pre pampering is up to you and making sure you look and feel your very best come the day of the shoot.
How do I prepare for a boudoir photo session?
Here are some basic but important tips on preparing for a boudoir shoot.
Skin: Moisturize, but DO NOT put on self tanner. The last thing you want is an orange tint or uneven tan lines on the day of the shoot.
Grooming: Don’t be getting an eyebrow or bikini wax the day before you show up to the session with irritated skin. Give yourself at least 3-4 days prior to the session to do those things.
Wardrobe: Wardrobe in itself is its own topic, which I will discuss in a future blog. But as a basic rule of thumb make sure to wear loose fitting clothes on the day of the shoot so you don’t have bad skin markings when you undress. My welcome guide will provide you with tons of wardrobe do’s and don’ts. Plus you’ll have access to my growing client closet!
Hydrate: Ladies, this is so so important! Not only does drinking plenty of water give your skin a beautiful natural glow, but it also helps cleanse your body of waste, boost your metabolism, and help drop a pound or two before the big day.
Rest: Make sure to get a full 8 hours of beauty sleep the night before the big day.
